Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has unleashed a scathing attack on President William Ruto, dismissing his 61st Jamhuri Day address as a “self-congratulatory ode of pipe dreams, lies, and fake facts.” Kalonzo accused Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza administration of using the national platform to peddle misinformation, betraying the sacrifices of the country’s freedom fighters.
“It is highly regrettable that what should have been a solemn and reflective occasion turned into a shameless propaganda exercise,” Kalonzo declared. “This regime thrives on disinformation, misleading Kenyans with grand illusions while the majority suffer under its failed leadership.”
Kalonzo tore into Ruto’s much-hyped “BETA agenda,” calling it an “illusionary circus” built on the false narrative that Kenya Kwanza is the ultimate arbiter of freedom, peace, and prosperity. He likened the administration to a predatory machine, enriching a select few while marginalizing the majority.
“Ruto’s BETA vision is a mockery of our independence ideals. It suggests that freedom is a gift only to those who bow to Kenya Kwanza, peace is granted to those who parrot their rhetoric, and prosperity is reserved for their cronies,” Kalonzo said.
The Wiper leader accused the government of betraying the nation’s forebearers, stating that their dream of an inclusive and equitable Kenya has been replaced by Kenya Kwanza’s oppressive rule. “This is not the vision of our heroes who fought against the dehumanizing yoke of colonialism,” he said.
Quoting Indira Gandhi, Kalonzo reminded Kenyans that “freedom, peace, and economic prosperity are indivisible” and warned against allowing a “lying regime” to divide the nation along political and economic lines.
In a fiery call to action, Kalonzo urged Kenyans to resist the Kenya Kwanza administration’s “self-serving shackles” and fight for a leadership that prioritizes their well-being. “The lies must end. Kenyans deserve a government that tells the truth, not one that thrives on deception,” he said.
As the country grapples with economic hardship and deepening political divisions, Kalonzo’s fiery remarks are likely to ignite further debate over the direction of Ruto’s administration. His blunt critique underscores the growing dissatisfaction among Kenyans who feel left behind by promises that remain unfulfilled.
The battle lines are now clearly drawn between an opposition ready to fight for change and a government accused of betraying the trust of its people.
