The mystery surrounding the death of 16-year-old Martin Mugambi at Miangeni International School has deepened after a postmortem conducted today at Makindu Level 4 Hospital confirmed that he died from drowning. However, his family is refusing to accept the findings, suspecting foul play and demanding access to CCTV footage from the school.

Government pathologist Dr. Grace Midigo, who led the autopsy, stated that while drowning was confirmed as the cause of death, further examinations will continue after samples were taken from Martin’s body to determine if there were any other contributing factors.
The postmortem was conducted in the presence of Martin’s family, but tensions ran high as the family spokesperson, Patrick Kinoti, publicly rejected the results. Kinoti has now called on the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to intervene and ensure full transparency.

“We are not satisfied with these findings. We demand the school and authorities release the CCTV footage from the swimming pool area. There are too many unanswered questions, and we suspect foul play,” said Kinoti.
The family’s demand adds pressure on Miangeni International School, which is already facing backlash from concerned parents. Reports that Martin had previously complained about bullying, coupled with disturbing details such as blood in his mouth, have only fueled speculation that his death may not have been accidental.

With calls for an independent investigation growing louder, all eyes are now on the school and the authorities. Will the CCTV footage reveal the truth, or is there more to this tragedy than meets the eye?
