Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has urged members of his executive to remain focused on delivering tangible results as his administration enters its final phase, warning that their legacy will be defined by impact rather than promises.

Speaking during Executive Working Consultative Sessions in Mombasa on Monday , Dr. Malombe said the county government has so far implemented more than 2,900 development projects since 2022 across key sectors including water, health, agriculture and infrastructure.

Among the flagship initiatives cited by the governor are the Kangu Kangu water pipeline, expansion of health facilities and ongoing road construction works aimed at improving connectivity across the county.

Dr. Malombe said the consultative sessions are designed to evaluate performance over the past four years and consolidate achievements into a verifiable scorecard, while sharpening focus on the delivery of final-year priorities.

“We must remain intentional and disciplined in execution. The legacy of this administration will depend on what wananchi can see and feel on the ground,” he said.

He further called for enhanced coordination among departments, strategic communication and adoption of data-driven decision-making to overcome emerging political and economic challenges ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The governor also cautioned against the spread of misinformation, noting that false narratives could undermine the county’s development record if not countered with facts.

“A vision without action is merely a dream; action without vision just passes the time; but vision with action can change the world,” he added.

The sessions are being facilitated by moderators from the Council of Governors to guide discussions and strengthen alignment within the county leadership.
