In a significant step toward improving the lives of vulnerable children, Makueni County has signed a five-year partnership with ChildFund and Emali Dedicated Children’s Agency (EDCA). This collaboration aims to enhance the welfare of disadvantaged children across the county by providing essential support in health, education, and safety.

Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. and EDCA CEO Victor Aduda formalized the agreement on Tuesday, marking the start of initiatives that will address critical needs within the community. The partnership focuses on several key areas: fundraising for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects in schools and communities, supporting vocational training for youth, developing child-friendly early childhood development (ECD) centers, and creating safe spaces where children can grow and thrive in a secure environment.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the partnership’s ultimate goal is to connect children living in extreme poverty with the necessary resources, networks, and institutions. This support aims to foster a healthier, safer, and more educated generation, equipped with the skills needed for a better future.

“This partnership is a commitment to ensure every vulnerable child in Makueni has the support they need,” stated Governor Kilonzo.
