Kyalo Kya Maendeleo founder Dr Augustus Kyalo Muli has been appointed chairman of the East African Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (EACCIA) Committee on Membership and Partnerships, placing him at the centre of regional trade and investment engagement efforts across East Africa.
The appointment, communicated by the Arusha-based regional chamber, gives Dr Muli the responsibility of spearheading initiatives aimed at expanding EACCIA’s membership network, strengthening international partnerships, and positioning the East African Community (EAC) as a competitive destination for global investment and commerce.
In his acceptance letter to the EACCIA Board and Leadership, Dr Muli described the appointment as a great honour and pledged to support the chamber’s mission of advancing economic integration and private sector growth within the region.

“The mandate of this Committee — to strengthen membership, advance regional and international partnerships, and open up the East African region to the rest of the world — resonates strongly with my professional experience and commitment to economic integration,” he stated.
Under the new role, Dr Muli is expected to work closely with the EACCIA Secretariat, member states, and international stakeholders to attract strategic partnerships that promote trade, investment, technology transfer, and industrial growth across East Africa.
He said the committee will also focus on expanding and diversifying EACCIA’s membership base across the region and internationally in a bid to strengthen private sector representation within the bloc.
Dr Muli further pledged to leverage his experience in logistics, investment consultancy, and international cooperation to help market East Africa as a unified economic destination for global capital and innovation.

“The opportunity to contribute at this critical time for regional integration is one I embrace fully,” he said.
The businessman and consultant also disclosed that he would, upon returning to the country next week, engage the EACCIA Secretariat on plans for an official media announcement and the rollout of the committee’s immediate priorities.
Besides his business and regional trade engagements, Dr Muli is also the entrepreneur behind Woods Africa Lounge and Restaurant in Kitui, a popular state-of-the-art recreation facility located at the heart of the county headquarters.
He also serves as the leader of the National Liberal Party (NLP) and is the National Patron of Anzauni, further expanding his profile in political leadership, youth empowerment, and community mobilisation.

Dr Muli is the founder of the Kyalo Kya Maendeleo movement and the Chief Executive Officer of Global Links Logistics and Consultancy.
EACCIA is a regional umbrella body that brings together chambers of commerce, industry players, and private sector stakeholders from East African Community member states with the aim of promoting trade, economic diplomacy, and regional integration.
