A distraught mother from Kitui County has come out publicly accusing a local woman of allegedly trafficking her six-month-old baby girl under unclear circumstances.

Speaking to the media in Kitui town, the mother claimed that the suspect, identified as Agnes Mwende Syombua from Mutitu Wa Ndoa in Kitui East, disappeared with the infant and has not been seen since. The mother alleges that the incident occurred under mysterious circumstances and has left her family devastated.

According to the mother, she reported the matter at Kitui Police Station immediately after realizing her child was missing. However, she claims that despite making an official complaint, no arrest has been made so far.
Now, she is appealing to residents of Mutitu Wa Ndoa and the wider Kitui community to volunteer any information that could help authorities trace the suspect and rescue the child.

“I am begging anyone who may know where she is to come forward and inform the police. I just want my baby back,” she said emotionally.

Efforts to get a comment from police were ongoing by the time of publishing this story. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the progress of investigations.

The case has sparked concern among residents, with many calling for swift action from law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of the child and accountability for those responsible.

Channel 15 News will continue to follow up on this developing story.
