The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) will today hold a live press conference addressing the State of the Nation, in what is expected to be a major moral and socio-political statement by the country’s top Catholic leadership.

In a communication issued this morning by the Social Communications Commission of the KCCB, Kenyans have been invited to tune in at exactly 12:00 p.m. to various affiliated media stations to follow the live briefing.

“Greetings from the Social Communications Commission, KCCB. We are inviting you to follow a LIVE Press Conference from the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops Today, 24th June 2025 on the State of the Nation at 12:00 p.m. Kindly tune to our media stations,” the statement read.

The bishops are expected to speak on a range of pressing national issues, including rising public discontent over governance, economic hardship, youth unrest, and recent church-state relations. The timing of the statement is significant, coming just a day before planned Gen Z-led memorial protests and amid increased calls for accountability across multiple sectors of government.

KCCB has historically used such platforms to voice moral concerns, call for justice, and offer pastoral guidance to both leaders and the faithful during turbulent national moments. The press conference is anticipated to offer not just critique, but also a roadmap rooted in Catholic social teaching.

More updates to follow as the story develops.
