    Kenya is in mourning following the passing of a distinguished military leader, Major General (Rtd) Aboud Abdallah Awadh Rafraouf, former Commander of the Kenya Navy.

    The news was confirmed on social media by former Mombasa Senator and UDA Chairman Hassan Omar, who expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the family and colleagues of the late General.

    Major General Rafraouf served the nation with honour, discipline, and unwavering commitment, playing a key role in shaping and strengthening Kenya’s defence institutions.

    Throughout his career, he was celebrated for his steady leadership during defining national moments, demonstrating patriotism and a deep sense of duty that left a lasting mark on the Kenya Defence Forces.

    Hassan Omar shared his heartfelt tribute, praying that Allah (SWT) grants the late General Jannatul Firdaus and provides his loved ones with patience and strength.

    “I have received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Major General Aboud Abdallah Awadh Rafraouf in Mombasa. To his family, friends, and colleagues in the Kenya Defence Forces, I extend my heartfelt condolences,” he wrote.

    Major General Rafraouf’s legacy is remembered not only for his service but also for inspiring a generation of military officers and reinforcing Kenya’s national security. His death leaves a profound gap in the country’s defence leadership, and Kenyans nationwide are reflecting on his contributions to the nation’s stability and integrity.
