Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian has obtained temporary court orders shielding her from her estranged boyfriend, Musa Hussein Lenyumpa, whom she accuses of harassment and defamation.
The orders, issued by Magistrate Festus Terer, prohibit Musa from assaulting, threatening, harassing, or in any way interfering with the Senator’s well-being. The court also restrained him from contacting her, either directly or indirectly, pending the determination of the case.

In her suit, the Senator alleged that Musa — whose marriage proposal she had rejected — continued to claim publicly that she is his wife, despite the two never having been married. She told the court she had even refunded a KSh 100,000 dowry he had given, yet the harassment persisted.
According to Hezena, Musa’s conduct has damaged her reputation and caused her emotional distress, prompting her to seek judicial intervention.
The matter will be mentioned on a later date for further directions as the temporary orders remain in force.
