Kamandura village in Limuru, Kiambu County, has been thrown into a state of horror after a mother of three was savagely butchered by her estranged husband in a shocking act of rage. The 34-year-old woman met her tragic end while heading home from a Chama meeting, only for the attacker, Paul Waweru Waithera, to later take his own life in a chilling twist.

The brutal events unfolded in the quiet Kamirithu area when Waithera, wielding a crude weapon, ambushed the woman as she walked with a friend. In a terrifying moment, he grabbed her, sending her friend fleeing for her life to seek help. By the time villagers responded, they stumbled upon a blood-curdling scene—her lifeless, mutilated body dumped in a cornfield.

The nightmare didn’t end there. Hours later, the community was left in shock once again when Waithera’s body was discovered hanging from the roof of his house, leaving behind more questions than answers.

Crime Scene Investigators combed both sites for evidence, with the bodies being moved to Tigoni Level IV Hospital mortuary. As residents come to terms with the tragedy, the double deaths have ignited heated discussions about domestic violence and its deadly consequences in the village.

The case remains under investigation as the devastated community mourns the violent loss of two lives in an act described by locals as “pure evil.”
