Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has appointed a County Housing Committee to oversee Makueni County’s affordable housing agenda. The appointments, approved by the County Assembly, were announced on Monday.
Cosmas J. Maweu will serve as the Chairperson of the committee, with Jacinta Mwikali Mbilo, Peterson Mwiu Kimweli, and Purity Mwikali Mutisya as members. The team will be responsible for overseeing housing policies and spearheading projects aimed at providing affordable and sustainable housing in the county.
“This is a critical step towards addressing the housing needs of our residents and improving their quality of life,” said Governor Mutula during the announcement.
The committee’s immediate focus will be drafting a housing roadmap to align with both county goals and the national Affordable Housing Program. The initiative aims to address the housing deficit, create employment opportunities, and promote sustainable development in Makueni.
