1668 ECDE teachers have been permanently employed and 85 ECDE classrooms constructed in the 16months in Kitui County in a bid to revolutionize the education sector, governor Julius Malombe has disclosed.
Speaking this afternoon during a special plenary sitting to give his state of the County address at County Assembly chambers said hiring ECDE teachers parmanently and building ECDE classrooms are part of his 16- sector development priorities .
The Governor stated that one of the County government’s goal is to make water secure for its residents.
In the health sector, the County government has overseen the completion and renovation of stalled maternity units across the county reducing infant mortality rate.
In addition, the County Government has established a cancer center at the kitui referral hospital in its quest to bring healthcare services closer to the people of Kitui.
The County chief further addedi that the County Government has collaborated with the National government in several projects in the agriculture and water sectors such as the farmer profiling and irrigation infrastructures.
