The Standing Committee on County Public Investments and Special Funds (CPIC) convened a crucial meeting on Wednesday, 28th August 2024, to discuss the financial management of various county entities in Kitui County under watch of governorMalombe.
Kitui County boss Dr Julius Makau Malombe responded by honoring the summons to answer to Auditor-General’s reports.

The session focused on interrogating the Auditor-General’s findings on the financial statements of the Kitui County Textile Center (KICOTEC) for the financial years 2019/2020, 2020/2021, and 2021/2022. Additionally, the committee scrutinized the financial statements of various county hospitals for the financial year 2021/2022.
