Kamba gospel artist Jackson Mutinda Masekete is facing intense backlash from fans following the arrest of his longtime mentor Stephen Kasolo over cyber harassment charges. Masekete, who had earlier fueled the controversy by participating in a now-viral TikTok Live, is being accused of failing to caution Kasolo on the consequences of his actions.

The TikTok video, which has now become key evidence in court, featured Masekete making controversial statements, including threats to expose what Ndeke Ya Muthanga allegedly told him about fellow gospel artist Stella Mengele during his sister’s burial.

In a cryptic post following Kasolo’s arrest, Masekete expressed deep regret, lamenting Kasolo’s lack of parental support:

“Kasolo angekua na wazazi, ata kama ameua, wangekua wakitafuta jinsi mtoto wao atakuwa huru… lakini hili linafanyika juu hana yeyote ila mke wake tu💔💔💔 (nao watoto ni wadogo 😢😢😢). Yaani hata kama kukoje, nyinyi ni mashahidi wangu, niliomba hadi msamaha juu hii kitu nimeibeba kama yangu, but nashangaa naambiwa am the cause ☹️☹️. I wish tu ‼️‼️‼️”
Fans React: Masekete Called Out for ‘Abandoning’ Kasolo
One fan, Millitanic Mwesh, added fuel to the fire by commenting:
“NMEONGEA NA STELLA MENGELE, AKIMALIZANA NA KASOLO AKUSHITUE.”
Masekete’s response raised eyebrows:
“Millitanic Mwesh sawa, nami nimekuachia ndoa na watoto unilelee na husisahau na kale niliachiwa na Siz last five months 🙏🙏🙏 Athimwa.”
This comes as some fans accuse Masekete of abandoning Kasolo in his time of need. Addressing the allegations, Masekete defended himself, stating:

“My wife has been there since day one, na nashangaa mashabik wengine huku wakiropokwa💔💔 Eti nilimuacha (Kasolo)… I had already signed a contract ya kazi na nikafika Mombasa… anyway siitaji kuongea sana (ila najua utatoka salama). I love you and I’ll love you forever no matter what ‼️ (My darling wife continue following up with the other team, baba atakuwa huru). Don’t listen to the rumors ☹️☹️.”
New Song Amid Controversy
Despite the storm, Masekete has surprisingly released a new song titled “Maekanisye”, a move some critics interpret as an attempt to capitalize on the drama.

Meanwhile, Stephen Kasolo remains in custody at Kitengela Prison, with a bail hearing scheduled for early next week after the lapse of eight days. For now, all eyes remain on how this saga unfolds, with Masekete caught in the crossfire of loyalty and responsibility.
