Residents of Nyeri County are mourning the sudden death of former Rware Ward MCA Paul Kanyari, a respected grassroots politician whose service left a lasting imprint on the local community.

Hon. Kanyari, who previously represented Rware Ward in the County Assembly, was described by colleagues and residents as a dedicated and development-focused leader. His passing has sent shockwaves across the ward, where he remained politically active and deeply connected to community affairs.

During his tenure as MCA, Kanyari championed initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and uplifting the socio-economic standards of residents. Even after leaving office, he continued engaging with the electorate and had declared his interest in contesting for the Rware Ward seat under the DCP Party ticket in the upcoming elections — a move that signaled his enduring commitment to public service.

Leaders across the political divide have termed his death a major loss not only to Rware Ward but to Nyeri County at large. They eulogized him as approachable, humble and steadfast in advocating for the needs of ordinary wananchi.

His family, friends and supporters are now grappling with the painful reality of losing a leader many believed still had much to offer in shaping the ward’s development agenda.

As condolences continue to stream in, prayers have been offered for strength and comfort to his immediate family and the people of Rware Ward during this difficult time.
