Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has praised the government’s efforts in reviving Kenya’s economy, highlighting significant milestones achieved under President William Ruto’s administration. Speaking during a Thanksgiving and Sunday worship service at Gospel Outreach Church, Kyuso, the Deputy President noted that inflation had dropped to its lowest in 17 years, the Kenyan shilling had stabilized, and prices of essential commodities such as food and fuel had reduced.
Kindiki attributed these achievements to the government’s transformative reform agenda, including the Affordable Housing Programme and labour export initiatives for skilled and semi-skilled professionals. He emphasized that these policies, implemented over the past two years, are driving Kenya toward economic stability and improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
He reassured the congregation that the government remains committed to equitable development, ensuring no region is left behind. He called for unity among Kenyans and peaceful resolution of differences, noting that divisive politics and incitement could derail the country’s progress.
“As political leaders, we must guard our country against sliding into lawlessness and anarchy. Inciting citizens to resolve disputes through violence, chaos, and destruction of public and private property goes against the foundation of our country’s constitutional order,” Kindiki warned.
He also highlighted the government’s ongoing healthcare reforms under the ‘Taifa Care’ programme, which seeks to provide every Kenyan with access to quality and affordable medical services. So far, 15 million citizens have been registered, with plans to address any challenges to ensure the programme runs smoothly. The Deputy President urged all Kenyans and their dependants to enroll and take advantage of the initiative.
The event was attended by a host of leaders, including Mwingi North MP Eng. Paul Nzengu, Tharaka Nithi Senator Mwenda Gataya, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai, and Trans Nzoia Woman Representative Lilian Siyoi, among others. The leaders joined Bishop Isaac Kithome and the congregation in prayers, underscoring the importance of unity and collaboration for Kenya’s prosperity.
Deputy President Kindiki’s remarks reflected the government’s focus on economic recovery, healthcare access, and national cohesion, reinforcing its commitment to building a united and prosperous nation.
