Gospel singer Stephen Kasolo’s freedom has been short-lived. Barely hours after walking out of jail following an eight-day detention, journalist and content creator Mutisya Maweu has filed a fresh defamation case against him, dragging the embattled artist into yet another legal showdown.
Maweu accuses Kasolo of falsely alleging that he raped a school-going child and used his media influence to cover up the crime. According to the journalist, the malicious claims—reportedly made by Kasolo on social media—have severely damaged his reputation and put his life in danger.
“This is not just about my career; it’s about my integrity. These false allegations have subjected me to public scrutiny and threats, and I will not rest until justice is served,” Maweu told Channel 15 News via a phone call.
This fresh lawsuit lands just as Kasolo was beginning to recover from his previous legal troubles, having spent over a week behind bars due to cyber harassment charges filed by media personality Stella Mengele. Now, the gospel star is staring at yet another legal battle, with his reputation hanging by a thread.
