Uasin Gishu County officially welcomed Evans Kapkea as its third deputy governor following his swearing-in ceremony today. Kapkea replaces John Barorot, who resigned in August, citing personal reasons for his departure.

The ceremony, held at the County Headquarters, was attended by county officials, local leaders, and community members who gathered to witness the historic moment. In his inaugural address, Kapkea expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and pledged to prioritize transparency, accountability, and sustainable development initiatives for Uasin Gishu residents.

Governor Jonathan Bii commended Kapkea’s leadership qualities, emphasizing the importance of his experience in steering the county forward. Bii acknowledged the contributions of former deputy governor John Barorot, thanking him for his service and dedication to the county’s development.

Kapkea’s appointment follows a thorough vetting process that highlighted his vast experience and alignment with the county’s development agenda. He now joins the executive team at a crucial time, with pressing issues such as infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and economic growth requiring focused leadership.

With his swearing-in, residents are optimistic that Kapkea’s leadership will address their concerns and ensure continued progress for Uasin Gishu County.
