A dramatic incident occurred at Bunyala Roundabout in Makueni when a deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS) was arrested for allegedly performing traffic duties while on leave. This action is in direct violation of the National Police Service Act, which prohibits police officers from engaging in official duties while off duty.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the officer, fully dressed in uniform and equipped with a Tourist Police Unit gadget, directing traffic at the busy roundabout. His presence raised eyebrows and prompted a swift response from fellow officers who recognized the violation of protocol.

Upon his arrest, the deputy OCS was taken to Makueni Police Station, where he is expected to face disciplinary action for his unauthorized conduct. This incident has sparked discussions about adherence to police regulations and the responsibilities of officers during their leave periods, underscoring the importance of maintaining the integrity of the National Police Service.
