In a chilling development, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two army officers in connection with the brutal murder of 26-year-old Mercy Rufansi. Mercy’s half-naked body was discovered on September 28, 2024, in a thicket in Mwiki, Nairobi, hours after she had been reported missing from her parents’ home in Pipeline, Embakasi.

According to the DCI, the two army officers were the last known individuals to have been in contact with Mercy before her tragic demise. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and subsequent murder have sparked national outrage, as investigations continue into the motive behind the crime.

Mercy was last seen alive on the same day she went missing, sparking a frantic search by her family and friends. Their worst fears were confirmed when her body was found discarded in the bushes, raising concerns about the safety of young women in the area.

Authorities are now focusing on the interrogation of the arrested officers as part of efforts to uncover the events leading to Mercy’s death. The public has demanded swift justice, with calls for enhanced security measures and deeper investigations into the possible involvement of others in this heinous crime.

The arrest of the army officers has added a new twist to the case, raising questions about their relationship with the victim and what may have led to her tragic end.

Mercy’s family is left devastated, pleading for answers and justice as investigations into her death continue. The DCI has assured the public that no stone will be left unturned in their quest to bring those responsible for her murder to justice.
