    The football fraternity in Kitui County is mourning the death of FC Dynamo star player John Otieno, popularly known as “Daddie,” following a brave battle with colon cancer.

    In a heartfelt statement released on Sunday, FC Dynamo announced the passing of the talented footballer, describing him as an exceptional player whose contribution to the club both on and off the pitch will never be forgotten.

    “It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved star player, John Otieno, popularly known as ‘Daddie.’ John recently faced his toughest battle off the pitch following a colon cancer diagnosis, and he fought bravely until the very end,” the club said.

    The club hailed Otieno as a shining light and a pillar of the FC Dynamo family, noting that his dedication, talent and passion for the game inspired teammates and supporters alike.

    “He was a shining light, an extraordinary talent, and a true pillar of the FC Dynamo family,” the statement added.

    FC Dynamo extended its deepest condolences to Otieno’s family, friends and teammates as they come to terms with the painful loss.
