Kenyan political parties seeking a global political platform now have a new opportunity after the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties (IALP) opened its doors to new members from around the world.
The international political association, founded in 2015 in Bournemouth, was created to bring together libertarian political parties that believe in individual liberty, free-market economics, voluntary cooperation and political decentralisation.
Parties interested in joining the alliance have been asked to send an official email expressing interest and introducing their political party to the Secretary General through the official address: Secretarygeneral@ialp.net.
The alliance says membership is voluntary and parties that join retain full political independence while benefiting from global cooperation and exchange of strategies.
Kenyan Party Already Among First Members
Kenya is already represented in the global alliance after the National Liberal Party (NLP) became the first Kenyan political party to join the organisation.
The party joined the alliance under the leadership of Dr Augustus Muli, marking a significant step that placed Kenya on the global libertarian political map.

Political observers say the move positioned the country among the early supporters of the international movement that is pushing for smaller governments, stronger personal freedoms and reduced state control.
A Growing Global Political Platform
The IALP was formed as an alternative to established global political organisations such as the International Democracy Union, the Socialist International and the Liberal International.
Its founders argue that many libertarian parties across the world lacked a global platform that truly represents their political philosophy.

Today, the alliance focuses on cooperation between member parties, sharing information and strengthening international political partnerships while allowing every party to remain independent.
With more political groups across Africa now looking for global political networks, the alliance’s call for new members could open the door for more Kenyan political parties to join the international movement.
