A grisly road traffic accident has been reported near the Mithuri area along the busy Nairobi–Nakuru Highway, just meters from where the WRC Safari Rally shakedown stage was held earlier today.
Initial reports indicate that a saloon car was involved in the crash. Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, attending to victims while managing traffic and securing the area.
Witnesses said the accident occurred shortly after heavy traffic built up along the highway due to the rally shakedown event, which attracted motorsport fans and other motorists to the Naivasha area.
Police officers and first responders are coordinating rescue efforts as investigations begin to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Authorities are urging motorists traveling along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway to exercise caution, maintain safe speeds, and stay alert, especially near the Mithuri section, which has been prone to accidents in recent years.
