Controversial Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Akothee has publicly accused her ex-husband Jared Okello of jealousy and failing to support her and their children, in a fresh wave of explosive revelations shared online.
In a series of emotional posts on her social media platforms yesterday, the self-proclaimed “President of Single Mothers” alleged that Okello, her first husband, has consistently resented her success and lifestyle transformation over the years.

According to Akothee, while she has built a lavish life through music and business, Okello continues to live in a semi-permanent house in their rural village despite serving as a church elder.
Claims of Sabotage in Her Second Marriage
Akothee further claimed that her former “mzungu” husband — whom she described as instrumental in changing her life — was allegedly pushed away due to interference and negative energy from Okello.

She narrated that the foreign partner met her in Mombasa at a time when she was working as a dancer in entertainment clubs frequented by wealthy clients.
According to her, the man supported her financially, gave her a child, and continued offering support even after their separation.

However, she now alleges that when Okello realized she had become financially stable and influential, he began creating drama that strained her relationship with the foreign partner.
The situation, she claims, ultimately led to the mzungu husband leaving and cutting off financial support.
“Even when he left, Okello never stepped in to support me or the children,” she lamented.
“Online Success, Offline Struggles”
In a candid admission, Akothee revealed that despite appearing successful and glamorous on social media, she is battling several personal struggles behind the scenes.

She contrasted her situation with Okello’s, alleging that while she carries the burden of raising the children alone, her ex-husband appears comfortable and unbothered.
Mixed Reactions Online
The revelations have sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans online, with some sympathizing with Akothee’s journey as a single mother, while others have questioned the decision to air deeply personal family matters in public.
