Security agencies in Narok County have dealt a major blow to drug traffickers after intercepting a vehicle loaded with cannabis sativa at Suswa Shopping Centre.

In a joint operation conducted by officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) and the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU), police seized a Nissan X-Trail, registration number KDP 353U, that had been packed with the illegal consignment.

The driver, James Nyaikondo, and his accomplice, Jackson Nyaikondo, were arrested on the spot after officers acting on credible intelligence mounted a swift and coordinated raid.

A preliminary search of the vehicle uncovered nine sacks of cannabis sativa, confirming the suspicions of the officers. Both suspects are currently in custody as investigators finalize their case ahead of arraignment in court.
