President William Ruto has announced a series of fresh appointments to boards of key state corporations and regulatory bodies, signaling a renewed push to streamline governance and strengthen oversight across institutions.

In a Gazette notice released on Friday, the Head of State revoked the appointment of former Senate Deputy Speaker Kembi Gitura as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) Board, replacing him with James Kibugu Wambu.

At the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), Pius Ang’asa, the General Manager of Nokia Kenya, has been named as a board member for a four-year term.

Meanwhile, Dr. Joseph Choge has been tapped to chair the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya for the next three years.

The President also restructured the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), appointing Winnie Beauttah to replace Nancy Kibugi as a board member.

In the maritime sector, Dr. Fridah Simba, Joab Tumbo, Steve Biko Luseno, and Ahmed Abdirahman Elyass will now serve on the Bandari Maritime Academy board.

Further, Josiah Ochieng Obole and Omad Idd Boga have been appointed to the Kenya Fisheries Service Board, while Billy Komintai Konchellah has joined the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya as a board member for a three-year term.

On the President’s Award Board, Emma Velma Achieng Maumo and Shimoy Khalif Jilaow were named as trustees.

The President also expanded the Panel of Experts on Compensation of Victims of Demonstrations and Public Protests, adding John Maina, Churchill Suba, and Daki Guyo to its membership, with Guyo designated as joint secretary.

The changes reflect Ruto’s broader strategy of injecting new leadership into public institutions as his administration moves to tighten service delivery, accountability, and policy implementation across critical sectors.
