A shocking incident unfolded at Kibera Law Courts after a rape supect identified as Joseph Ombogo, was caught on CCTV stealing a prosecutor’s phone during his own court hearing.

The prosecutor had noticed their phone missing during the court session, sparking immediate concern. After a review of the courtroom’s CCTV footage, the suspect was clearly seen pocketing the phone. Authorities quickly sprang into action, tracing the thief to Kawangware, a nearby residential area.

There, Ombogo was apprehended along with an accomplice who was found in possession of the stolen phone. The pair were arrested and taken into custody, with Ombogo’s actions adding a fresh layer of charges to his already serious legal situation.

The incident has raised serious questions about courtroom security and the lengths to which some suspects will go. Ombogo now faces additional charges of theft, further complicating his already dire legal troubles.
