Renowned Kamba gospel artist Stephen Kasolo is finally a free man after spending eight days at Kitengela Prison over cyber harassment charges. The Groove Award-winning musician was released on Ksh 150,000 cash bail or a Ksh 400,000 bond after appearing before Mavoko Chief Magistrate Derrick K. Kutwo on Tuesday.

Kasolo faced charges of cyber harassment against fellow Kamba artist Stella Mengele, with the alleged offenses occurring between 6th and 14th February 2025 at undisclosed locations. His case is set for a mention on 6th March 2025, marking a critical point in what has become one of the most dramatic legal sagas in the Kamba entertainment industry.

However, just an hour after his release, fresh trouble came knocking. Businessman and popular content creator Mutisya Maweu has filed a defamation lawsuit against Kasolo, further complicating the artist’s legal woes. Sources close to the matter indicate that Maweu is seeking substantial damages, accusing Kasolo of tarnishing his reputation through social media attacks.

Kasolo, known for his emotional gospel hits and fiery personality, has yet to respond to the new lawsuit. His arrest had sparked heated debates among his fans, with some calling it a witch-hunt, while others urged artists to be more responsible with their online engagements.

With another legal battle looming, all eyes are on Kasolo as he fights to clear his name. Will he emerge unscathed, or is this just the beginning of a bigger storm in his career? The gospel star’s next court appearance on March 6th will likely set the tone for his fate.
