At least three people have been confirmed dead and 19 others injured following a grisly road accident involving a security vehicle attached to Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale along the Kisumu–Busia Road.
According to police reports, the crash occurred near Otonglo as the CS’s convoy was heading towards Kisumu International Airport after attending a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by Ouma Oluga in Rarieda.

Authorities say the accident involved a vehicle from the security detail escorting the Cabinet Secretary. The crash left three people dead at the scene while at least 19 others sustained injuries of varying degrees.
The injured victims were rushed to hospitals in Kisumu for treatment as emergency responders and police moved swiftly to secure the area and manage traffic along the busy highway.
Earlier reports had suggested that CS Duale himself was involved in the accident. However, the Health CS later confirmed that he was safe and not directly involved in the crash.
The thanksgiving ceremony in Rarieda had attracted several high-profile leaders, including William Ruto and other senior government officials.

Police have launched investigations into the cause of the accident as concerns continue to mount over road safety along the Kisumu–Busia highway.
