The National Liberal Party (NLP) Leader and Anzauni National Patron, Dr. Augustus Kyalo Muli, has accused Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka of deliberately locking the Kamba community out of government in order to maintain his personal grip on Ukambani politics. Speaking exclusively to Channel 15 News from China, where he is currently on a business trip, Muli said it is time to expose what he called the grand betrayal of the Kamba people by a man who has grown powerful by keeping his own community in permanent opposition and poverty.

According to the Anzauni National Patron , for over 40 years, Kalonzo has positioned himself as the undisputed voice of Ukambani, rising to the position of Vice President and branding himself the region’s kingpin and kingmaker. However, Muli argued that while Kalonzo has used this status to build wealth and political clout, the Kamba people have remained trapped in poverty, hopelessness, and political isolation.

He said Kalonzo has perfected the art of playing national politics for personal gain, while offering the people of Ukambani nothing but speeches and slogans. He noted that the region continues to sink economically as Kalonzo and his close circle grow richer and more powerful.
The NLP leader pointed to recent events where hundreds of Ukambani leaders defied Kalonzo’s directive and trooped to State House to meet President William Ruto as proof that Kalonzo’s control over the region is crumbling. He cited the attendance of the Speakers of the Kitui and Machakos County Assemblies as a direct challenge to Kalonzo’s authority and a sign of growing political consciousness in the region.

He said Kalonzo is now scared because the people have begun to realize the truth — that he has done nothing for the community he claims to represent, and that his political strategy has always been to keep Kambas out of government in order to preserve his role as a gatekeeper.

According to Muli, the Kamba people are now seeing how other communities are benefiting from the Kenya Kwanza administration while they remain stuck in opposition. He said Kalonzo fears that once Kambas taste what it means to be in government, his manipulation through fear and propaganda will lose its power.
Muli warned that the mood in the region is changing rapidly, describing it as a boiling pot of frustration and hunger. He said a hungry man is an angry man, and Kambas are now angry because they finally understand why they are hungry — because of Kalonzo and his loyal Wiper lieutenants who, in his view, have done nothing meaningful for the people who entrusted them with leadership.
He called out what he described as a toxic culture of bootlicking and empty loyalty within Wiper, accusing the party of being more focused on protecting Kalonzo’s legacy than delivering real development.

Muli declared that the time has come to sweep out the old guard and usher in a new era of bold, transformative leadership. He said the National Liberal Party is offering the Kamba nation a clean break from decades of recycled politics and recycled leaders.

He emphasized that NLP stands for genuine leadership and democracy — one that puts the needs of the people first and doesn’t use poverty as a political tool. He said his movement will ensure the Kamba community stops being a spectator in national affairs and becomes an active, empowered partner in government.
At the same time , Muli has sent a warning to those still clinging to the old order, saying that Kalonzo should enjoy his final days as the self-declared kingpin, because the revolution in Ukambani has already begun. This time, he said, it’s not about who wears the crown — it’s about feeding the kingdom.
