Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has strongly condemned the violence that erupted at Witima ACK Church in Othaya, blaming President William Ruto and Inspector General of Police Japhet Kanja for what he termed as a dangerous turn in the country’s politics.
In a hard-hitting statement, Kalonzo expressed deep concern over the incident, saying Kenya was sliding into an era of violence, abductions, and lawlessness, which he warned threatened the country’s democratic foundations.

Kalonzo claimed that Rigathi Gachagua had been abducted by masked men, raising alarm over his safety and whereabouts. He demanded that the former Deputy President be produced immediately at the nearest police station, insisting there must be proof of life.
“If anything wrong happens to Rigathi Gachagua, President William Ruto and IG Japhet Kanja will be squarely to blame,” Kalonzo said.
The Wiper leader decried what he described as a return to detention without trial, warning that such actions had no place in a democratic society.
“There can never be detention without trial in this country,” he stated.

Kalonzo further warned that the continued use of force, intimidation, and abductions against political opponents could plunge the country into instability.
“If anything happens to Rigathi Gachagua, William Ruto, you will not have a country,” he cautioned.
He lamented that Kenya was drifting away from the ideals it had painstakingly built over the years.
“This is not the country we have been trying to build — literally brick by brick — for democracy and good governance,” Kalonzo added.
As of the time of publication, the government and police leadership had not issued an official response to Kalonzo’s claims.
