The County Assembly of Kitui has appointed Chris Mulundi Mwangangi as the Acting Clerk of the Assembly, following a resolution passed by the County Assembly Service Board on October 13, 2025.
According to Gazette Notice No. 15004, the decision was made during a sitting of the Service Board held on the same day, in accordance with Section 21 of the County Assembly Services Act, 2017.
Mwangangi, who has been serving as the Deputy Clerk, will hold the acting position for a period of six months, effective October 13, 2025. The appointment is intended to ensure the smooth running of assembly operations as the Board finalizes plans for a substantive appointment.
In the notice signed by Speaker Kevin K. Katisya, who also chairs the County Assembly Service Board, members of the public and staff were informed of the leadership transition at the Assembly’s Secretariat.
“The appointment takes effect immediately and will remain in force for six months,” reads part of the Gazette notice.
The development marks a key administrative move within the Kitui County Assembly as it continues to streamline its legislative and service delivery functions ahead of the next budget cycle.
