The Young Wiper Democrats, the youth wing of the Wiper Democratic Movement, held elections today to usher in a new crop of leaders as the party prepares to rally the youth behind their leader, Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, ahead of the 2027 presidential race. This move is seen as pivotal in mobilizing the party’s younger generation to take an active role in the political landscape.

In a significant shake-up, Felix Mambo was ousted from his position as Deputy Secretary General due to disciplinary issues. Swala Abraham was unanimously elected to fill this role, reflecting the need for renewed leadership and commitment.

The elections saw Nixon Bundi from Kisii County emerge as Chairman of the Young Wiper Democrats, a role that positions him at the forefront of youth mobilization efforts for Kalonzo’s presidential ambitions. Amos Peshut from Kajiado County was elected Secretary, strengthening the team’s organizational capacity.

Hon. Mbula Mutula, Wiper’s Secretary General, addressed the delegates, stressing the importance of loyalty and focus from the new leadership. She highlighted the strategic significance of the youth in the 2027 campaign, urging the elected leaders to remain steadfast in upholding the party’s values.

Among other key positions, Hon. Catherine Kyee from Machakos County was elected as Treasurer, with Prudence Kibet taking up the Deputy Treasurer role. Mark Gichuri from Kiambu County secured the position of Deputy Organizing Secretary, while Nixon Birundu was also elected as Chairperson.

    Other elected committee members include:

    1. Umoja Julius – Migori County
    2. Anita Chikura – Taita Taveta County
    3. Davis Mitsanze – Kilifi County
    4. Patricia Wairimu – Kiambu County
    5. Peter Ondari – Nairobi County
    6. Cosmas Mutisya – Kitui County
    7. Patrick Murithi – Tharaka Nithi County
    8. Stephen Owino – Nairobi County
    9. Antonila Leaduma – Samburu County
    10. Isaac Wambua – Makueni County

This newly elected team is expected to play a key role in spearheading a vibrant youth campaign in support of Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential bid, reaffirming the Wiper Party’s commitment to youth engagement.
