Kitui East Mp Nimrod Mbai has said he will not apologize for voting in , the now rejected Finance Bill 2024 or for being associated with President William Ruto.
Taking to his socials shortly after meeting President William Ruto at State House Nairobi yesterday, Mbai said said Kitui East is UDA zone and will always advocate matters party politics first.
“Yes, Kitui East is a YES zone and we have no apologies to make, we have a golden opportunity to have the ear of the President in the next eight year. Politics is about personal interests and the President has the interest of Kitui East Constituency in his heart.Stay with your NO and allow us to keep our YES then we compare notes on 11th August, 2027.Kama Mbaya Mbaya.” He said
Since voting Yes in the now defunct Finance Bill, Mbai and other Kitui Mps l been on the receiving end from members of the public for being against the will of the people but they have mantained a firm stand.
In what is seen as a way of affirming his trust in the UDA leaders from Lower Eastern region, yesterday President William Ruto met and had conversation regarding matters government projects ongoing in the region and it’s progress.
“I have had productive discussions with leaders from Machakos, Kitui, and Makueni counties on the ongoing government projects in their region.
We discussed the housing programme, increasing access to power under the Last Mile Connectivity project, and the establishment of digital hubs in every ward across the country.” Said the head of the state
