Residents of Slaughter area of Bondeni in Kitui Township, Kitui Central Constituency, were Friday evening thrown into shock after a middle-aged man was found dead in an alleged suicide incident.
Sources who spoke to Channel 15 News said the deceased is believed to have been working for a local internet connection company operating within Kitui Town.
According to a close source, concern arose after repeated attempts to reach the man went unanswered, prompting neighbours and friends to check on him at his residence.
Upon breaking into the house, they allegedly found him hanging inside the bathroom using a shower hanger.
Police officers later arrived at the scene and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
The body was moved to the Kitui County Referral Hospital Mortuary pending identification by family members and completion of police investigations.
The incident has sparked fresh concerns among residents over the increasing cases of mental health struggles and suicide incidents being reported in different parts of the country.
Authorities have continued to urge members of the public to seek counselling and emotional support whenever faced with emotional, social, or financial challenges.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
