William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable development, saying the strength of any nation lies in ensuring that no region is left behind in resource allocation and service delivery.

The President spoke when he met Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from Kitui County at State House Nairobi, led by Assembly Speaker Kevin Kinengo Katisya.
Ruto said the government is working closely with leaders from across the country to accelerate the national transformation agenda through collaborative development planning.

“The bedrock of a united nation is inclusive governance and the equitable distribution of resources across all parts of the country. To achieve this, we are working with leaders from all over Kenya to ensure that no citizen and no region is left behind,” he stated.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed strategies to fast-track priority development projects in Kitui County, with a particular focus on water infrastructure.

Key areas highlighted included the construction and rehabilitation of dams to mitigate water scarcity, development and upgrading of critical road networks to open up the county, and promotion of affordable housing programmes.
The talks also touched on the establishment of modern markets and student hostels to support local economic growth and education access.
Other priority programmes discussed were the expansion of the last-mile electricity connectivity initiative and the issuance of land title deeds to resolve long-standing land ownership challenges in the county.

The President reiterated the government’s resolve to work with county leaders to ensure development projects are implemented efficiently for the benefit of residents.
