Detectives in Matungulu Sub-County have launched investigations after a middle-aged businessman allegedly shot himself dead at his residence in Kyakatulu Village, Tala.

According to Tala Chief Francis, the shocking incident was first reported by locals before he alerted detectives. Police officers rushed to the scene, processed the area, and recovered the man’s pistol, which is believed to have been used in the suspected suicide. The firearm has since been taken for forensic analysis.

Authorities say initial investigations have not revealed any clear motive behind the act, leaving villagers in deep shock. The businessman, described by residents as well-known in the area, reportedly had no prior public disputes.

His body was moved to Kangundo Level 3 Hospital Mortuary as investigations continue.
