A feared gang of three linked to violent robberies, rape, and defilement across Nyamira and Kisii has finally been caged, ending months of fear in the region.
Following an exhaustive investigation, detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) tied the trio to three major heists—two in Ramasha and one in Magena.
In one chilling attack, the gang raided the home of a 96-year-old grandmother at night. The devout Catholic prayed for her intruders—who briefly bowed their heads—before ransacking her home, gulping the milk she had saved for her medication, devouring every crumb of food, and fleeing with all the electronics.
The CRIB team, working with officers from Kenyanya and Nyamira, tracked and flushed out the suspects—William Obiero Gekonge, James Mogaka Otego, and Justus Ondieki Nyabuto—from their hideouts in Kisii.
Police recovered stolen electronics and a motorcycle used in the raids. The suspects are in custody and will be arraigned after processing.
