The High Court in Nanyuki has found Faith Kanoria Mwebia guilty of murdering her boyfriend, Daniel Mwaniki Miano, in a case that has gripped residents of Laikipia County since 2020.
The conviction followed a full trial where the prosecution, led by Counsel Jackson Motende and Esther Kimani, presented compelling evidence that the fatal incident occurred on the night of July 5, 2020, in the Likii area.
According to testimony from ten witnesses, Mwebia and Miano had been embroiled in a heated altercation earlier that evening. The court heard that during the confrontation, Mwebia physically attacked Miano and issued threats to take his life.
Hours later, Miano was discovered lying by the roadside with a deep stab wound to his abdomen. He succumbed to the injuries shortly after.
Delivering the judgment, Hon. Justice A.K. Ndung’u ruled that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to the conviction of Mwebia for murder.
Sentencing has been scheduled for September 2, 2025.
