At least 28 people were injured on Monday morning after a lorry collided with an Easy Coach bus along the Nakuru Highway in Nakuru Town, Nakuru County.

The Easy Coach bus was traveling from Nairobi to Kisumu at the time of the accident when the collision occurred, triggering an emergency response along the busy highway.

Rescue teams confirmed that 12 of the injured passengers were in critical condition and were rushed to hospital for urgent medical care, while 16 others sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The Kenya Red Cross, working alongside a multi-agency response team, provided first aid, coordinated evacuations, and supported rescue efforts as the situation was brought under control.

Police officers secured the scene and commenced clearance operations to ease traffic congestion, with investigations into the cause of the accident now underway. Motorists were urged to exercise caution as normal traffic flow was gradually restored.
